James Madison American High School College Counseling is a dedicated and supportive resource within the high school, focused on providing comprehensive guidance to students as they navigate the path from high school to higher education. Staffed by experienced college counselors, this department serves as a valuable link between students, parents, and universities.

Key Responsibilities:

1. College Exploration:

• Assisting students in identifying their academic and personal interests to explore suitable college options.
• Providing resources for researching colleges and universities, including information on academic programs, campus life, and admission requirements.

2. Application Support:

• Offering guidance on the college application process, including creating a balanced list of colleges, preparing application materials, and meeting deadlines.
• Assisting with standardized testing strategies, such as SAT or ACT preparation, and providing information on testing requirements for colleges.

3. Financial Aid and Scholarships:

• Providing information on financial aid options, scholarships, and grants.
• Assisting families in understanding the cost of education and exploring avenues to make higher education financially accessible.

4. College Visits and Interviews:

• Coordinating college visits to the high school campus, allowing students to interact with admissions representatives.
• Offering support and resources for college interviews, helping students prepare for these important interactions.

5. Personalized Counseling:
